MBK Club Scholarship

The MBK Club Scholarship is a scholarship awarded to high school juniors or seniors demonstrating exemplary service to their community.

Monroe Bowman Scholarship

Named after the former Dean of Admissions at Hampton with a PHD in Biology, the Monroe Bowman Scholarship is a scholarship awarded to high school seniors demonstrating academic achievement, public service, and an interest in STEM.

MBK’s Entrepreneur Award

The MBK Club will selectively invest in a student-led venture. The entrepreneurs must demonstrate an ability to create a product or service, identify a market, and sustain unit economics. Students must take the MBK entrepreneurship course to be eligible for this scholarship and be seniors in high school.

MBK Invest

The MBK Club will award students with the best private equity or public equity pitch, the MBK Invest award. The winning team will be given capital to establish an investment club at their school. The proceeds from the team’s investment will be reinvested in their community.

Ron Brown Scholarship

This scholarship program, named after the former Secretary of Commerce, awards outstanding young African Americans with scholarships, leadership experience, and service opportunities to encourage civic engagement among scholars. Each scholar is awarded ~$10,000 per year for four years to be used for educational purposes. Scholars are also provided with a mentorship program all throughout their college years.

Jackie Robinson Foundation Scholarship Program

Applicants to this need-based scholarship are judged on their leadership skills and commitment to community service. To be considered eligible, you must identify as a minority student. As many as 60 new scholarships are awarded annually. The scholarships are four-year awards, and recipients can receive as much as ~$30,000 over four years.
Eligibility: US minority high school seniors who plan on getting a bachelor’s degree in the US

Coca-Cola Scholars Program

Coca-Cola Scholars are judged primarily on their academic performance, extracurricular activities, leadership experience, and community service. This scholarship program is fairly big: 150 awards of ~20,000 each are given out every year.
Eligibility: US high school seniors; can’t be children or grandchildren of Coca-Cola employees

Gates Scholarship

The Gates Scholarship aims to help scholastically outstanding minority high school seniors reach their full potential. Every year, 300 students receive a scholarship covering the full cost of attendance (including tuition, fees, room, board, books, and transportation) that is not already covered by other financial aid and expected family contribution.
Eligibility: US minority high school seniors who are Pell-eligible, have a minimum 3.3/4.0 GPA, and plan to attend a four-year US college.

Burger King Scholarship

Founded over a decade ago, the Burger King McLamore Foundation has raised more than $35 million to support over 33,000 students. The co-founder of Burger King, James W. McLamore started this foundation with the intention to help employees and their families pursue higher education. The Burger King McLamore Foundation serves the United States, Puerto Rico, and Canada.

National Merit Scholarships

The National Merit Scholarship program offers about 8,600 scholarships to those who qualify by taking the PSAT/NMSQT. These scholarships are given by many colleges and universities throughout the nation and students who enroll at these institutions are automatically considered for the National Merit.
